Refund policy
A good purchase should sit right the first time. If yours doesn't, sending it back should be as simple as buying it was. This page lays out exactly how that works, in plain terms, with nothing buried. Everything here applies to orders placed and delivered inside the United States, which is currently where we ship and accept returns.
Your return window
You have 45 days from the day your order is delivered to begin a return. Get in touch within that window and we'll take it from there.
What we can accept back
To be eligible, items need to be:
- In new, unused condition, unworn and unwashed
- Complete with all tags, in their original packaging
- Free from any marks, scent, or damage picked up after delivery
Please keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase. Anything sent back outside these conditions may be declined and returned to you.
Starting a return
Returns begin with a quick email, not a label in the box. The order of things:
- Email customercare@alexander-burton.com and include your order number.
- We'll reply with the return address and step by step instructions.
- Send it back with everything it came with, using a tracked service.
Please wait for our reply before posting anything. Items sent back before we've confirmed the details can be delayed or lost.
Postage and getting it back to us
- Return postage is covered by you. We don't issue prepaid labels.
- Use a tracked and insured service. We can't refund an item that goes missing on its way back to us, so proof of postage matters.
How refunds work
- Once your return reaches us and passes a quick check, we'll email you the outcome.
- Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 2 business days of that check.
- The original shipping charge isn't refunded, unless the return is down to a mistake on our end.
- Your bank or card provider can take a little longer to surface the funds. If nothing has landed after 7 business days, email us and we'll chase it.
Swaps and exchanges
Need a different size or a different style instead? Just say so in your return email and we'll sort it. Exchanges are available on both faulty and non-faulty items.
Restocking fees
- We don't charge restocking fees. Not now, not ever
If something arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect
If your order turns up damaged, faulty, or not what you ordered, email customercare@alexander-burton.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo showing the issue. Once we've confirmed it, we'll replace it or refund it in full, at no cost to you, and you won't need to send anything back unless we ask.
Changed your mind before it ships
Caught it early? Email us before your order has been processed or dispatched and we'll cancel it for you. Once an order has shipped it can't be cancelled, so use the return route above once it arrives.
